Every time I turn on a news channel whether its FOX, CNN, CBS, or ABC all I see is sad stories of politicians driving government funds for their personal use, or unremorseful talk show host David Letterman revealing to the world that he cheated on his wife with pretty much all of his assistants. Then you see a story roughly another terror threat on our country, which should be the lead story that falls behind dull gossip.
Ever since 9-eleven anytime something popped up roughly a terror alert, I have necessarily wondered what city would be next and hoped no lives would once again be lost. I think the issue that most of us had, was that we necessarily felt untouchable living in the U.S till the towers came down and many of blameless victims lost they're lives. It's a day that all of us won't ever forget, and youngsters born after the tragedy will learn roughly but won't ever completely understand the have an effect on it had on all of us at the time.
Like many I was not a fan of President Bush at the time, but was happy he did take quick initiative to try and uncover the terrorist liable for the brutal deaths of many on U.S soil. While lots of the terrorist leaders have been caught or killed in the technique, the one that enormously matters Bin Laden nonetheless seems to be at large. Until he is caught or they officially uncover his corpse we're not as safe as we think. Terrorist plots on U.S will preserve to grow consisting of the robust hatred they have for us, and unlike most reasonable people they are willing to sacrifice everything to be a martyr.
I know most of us are die challenging Americans willing to put flags up outside of our houses, yell at every baby-kisser we see on TV that we do not agree with. But we have to realize that we're facing terrorists that are willing to sacrifice not most effective themselves but their families as well. While our youngsters grow up little league baseball, or Pop Warner football systems, youngsters in other countries start learning how to kill enemies at the age of five. They are brought up to believe anybody who opposes them should be dealt with in a severe manner. Every time I hear that an American convoy was attacked by a suicide bomber that happens to be a baby. I am thankful that my two sons most effective have to worry roughly whether or not they're going to have the ability to play the Wii after they end their homework before dinner.
But as time goes by since the last attack on our soil, we have all started to get a little comfortable again. There have been a bunch of high alerts but thank the one above that nothing has happened. Recently suspected terrorist with Al Qaeda ties Najibullah Zazi who lived in Denver was arrested after buying large amounts of cosmetic chemicals from a beauty provide store in order to build a bomb of mass destruction, which he planned to set off in america. Thankfully he was caught before he was able to follow through with his plans, or we might be wanting at another major attack.
For one thing I am very grateful that we have committed men and girls that risk their lives everyday overseas to fight for what's right. I do not agree that it could have taken this long, but I am just a 9 to 5 civilian operating in the security of an office. There are maybe many things going on in Afghanistan that we actual have no idea roughly, and won't ever know roughly. One reality nonetheless remains the same the longer troops stay overseas, the more the 9-eleven death toll grows, and the more we worry that at any moment an attack might once again occur.
